The Wau Waria District of the Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated the World Pathfinder Day on September 16, 2023, with various activities and programs.
The celebration was held in Kosali, Wau Town, and Wau Church (Banisu), instead of a combined district event as in previous years.
One of the local clubs was Kosali, which marked a significant event in the church’s history. The Pathfinders conducted the full church service, with George Alvin as the preacher for the Friday night fellowship. Pricilla Yaviko also led out in the day’s program, which included explaining the meaning of the Pathfinder flags and colors to the church congregation and presenting a brief history of World Pathfinder Day.
After closing the Sabbath on Saturday afternoon, the Pathfinders provided food and conducted night worship at a Haus Krai at Menyamya Compound from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Another local club was Wau Town, which also conducted the full church service, with Daniella Micheal as the preacher. The Pathfinders also did branch Sabbath school at Main Town site, and visited some members who were sick or in need.
The assistant Pathfinder coordinator for the district, Elder Luke Pawia, expressed his appreciation and pride for the church who participated in the programs.

The Youth Week of Prayer and Global Youth Day program, which took place in Wau from March 12th to March 18th, under the theme "love is a verb," was a resounding success. The week-long program was a global initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church designed to nurture young members about God's desired love.
The program concluded with an uplifting outreach visit on the 18th of March to a 'hauskrai' within the community, where the youth participants walked for an hour to demonstrate their love and empathy to grieving families at Kunai Creek.
The enthusiastic members engaged in daily devotionals, group discussions, and prayer sessions throughout the Youth Week of Prayer. The Global Youth Day program encouraged young people to give back to the community by participating in volunteer activities and community events. Overall, the event demonstrated the power of youth coming together for a common goal and the significance of love in action.
