The celebration was held in Kosali, Wau Town, and Wau Church (Banisu), instead of a combined district event as in previous years.

One of the local clubs was Kosali, which marked a significant event in the church’s history. The Pathfinders conducted the full church service, with George Alvin as the preacher for the Friday night fellowship. Pricilla Yaviko also led out in the day’s program, which included explaining the meaning of the Pathfinder flags and colors to the church congregation and presenting a brief history of World Pathfinder Day.

After closing the Sabbath on Saturday afternoon, the Pathfinders provided food and conducted night worship at a Haus Krai at Menyamya Compound from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Another local club was Wau Town, which also conducted the full church service, with Daniella Micheal as the preacher. The Pathfinders also did branch Sabbath school at Main Town site, and visited some members who were sick or in need.

The assistant Pathfinder coordinator for the district, Elder Luke Pawia, expressed his appreciation and pride for the church who participated in the programs.

“Young Preachers Inspire at World Adventurer Day Event in Wau Waria District”

21 May 2023 Luke Pawia

On Sabbath, May 20th, 2023, the Adventurer Department of the Wau Waria District of the Seventh-day Adventist Church organization hosted their special yearly event “The WORLD ADVENTURER DAY”. This event brings together young Adventurers from across the district to participate in a day of worship, fellowship and outreach.

This year’s event was a combined district program where young Adventurers took part in all Sabbath Programs. The Town church Adventurers conducted the Sabbath School and the Kosali & Wau church Adventurers conducted the Divine Service. The guest speaker for this main Worship was young children preacher Ruth Charlie Kiwi of Kossli church. “It was an amazing experience to see so many young people coming together to worship and praise God,” said Ruth.

After lunch, all Adventurers journeyed to the next venue for Street Witnessing. As they walked the street, they shared food with anyone they met. The Wau Town Outreach - Street Witnessing was conducted by Town church Adventurers and Chris Memorial church Adventurers. The street witnessing speaker was young children preacher Violet Bana of Town Church. “It was a great opportunity to share God’s love with others and make a positive impact in our community,” said Violet.

The Adventurers also sang beautiful songs of praise showing their gratitude to their Creator God who lives and reigns forever.

The program was a success and the team leader acknowledged the audience for being part of it. “We are grateful for everyone who participated and made this event possible,” said the team leader. All praise, glory, and honor be to our almighty God.

Wherever the LORD Sends, I will Go

14 Oct 2021 Adrian Ales

“We had to send six of us back to Wau, for medical attention,” said Elder Lami Yasi, of Banisu Adventist Church in Wau. “Most of us sustain minor scratches, but that did not stop from continuing our journey to Garaina,” he added.

Six people with cuts, flesh wounds and suspected fractured limbs were sent back to Wau for medical attention.

The other 40 people got off at Waria where they found shelter for the night before setting out for Garaina.

A soul was baptized on the sabbath after the week of evangelism. With the help provided, concrete boxes were laid out as floor for the church. “We ask for your prayers,” said Elder Timothy Joe of Bisenanga Adventist Church, “We still have a lot more to do with limited time before its dedication next year,” he added.
